Letter to the Editor & Response

 Dear Sir,

I am fed up with you! I tried the combo you suggested. It was a total failure! It didn't work in the slightest way possible. It would spin out of control and the rod just about broke in half. I am on the verge of unfollowing you and your failing work. If you could suggest a combo that could actually work I would consider to continue to follow you.

                                                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                                                        Jimmy Bob, Jr.

 Dear Mr. Bob.

I am sorry the combo I suggested did not work. You might need to adjust the tension nob and if you need to you can get a new rod for your reel. I am sorry I didn't provide a good suggestion. I will try to suggest a better combo in the future.

                                                                                                    Sincerely,

                                                                                                             John Jones

The Adventures of a Young Girl on the Farm

My Grandmother spent time at her Uncle Wm Ray’s farm in North Carolina as a child.  She spent a lot of time with her family at the farm, where they grew tobacco.  She explored and fished with her brother on the farm. They would walk to the pond that had lots of fish in it. She enjoyed going on adventures with her older brother. She learned how to fish with her brother, as she got older. She learned to dig up her own slimy, wiggly worms using an old stick technique. She found them under a cedar tree by the curing barn for the tobacco. Even though she did not have a fancy fishing setup, she made the best of what she had. Her brother, Larry, was a prankster. Even though they were so young, he was not scared of anything and always wanted to pester her.

One day they were fishing on a Sunday afternoon. He always checked for snakes before he started fishing. As he was checking the edge of the water, he told her there was a shiny fish next to the edge of the pond that she should see.  She did not believe there really was a shiny fish, but she went to look anyway. She edged closer and closer to the water’s edge. Suddenly, he lunged forward and pushed her in to the water.  Drenched and enraged, she staggered out of the pond. As furious as a hooked fish, she chased Larry around and around in the yard until he collapsed in laughter. Then she pounced on him like a tiger on the hunt.  After all their antics, they needed to get back and change their clothes without their parents finding out what had happened. They hid in the hay barn and hung their clothes to the dry in the sun. She never forgot this amusing experience she had as a young girl on the farm.
